We’ve all worked with some real characters, but which TV character portraying an administrative professional would most people want at their company? More than a quarter (29 percent) of workers surveyed by staffing firm OfficeTeam said they’d choose Pam Halpert from “The Office,” followed by Waylon Smithers from “The Simpsons” (17 percent).
Those surveyed were asked, “Which of the following TV administrative professionals would you most like to have at your company?” Their responses*:

Pam Halpert from “The Office” |

Waylon Smithers from “The Simpsons” |
17% |
|
Joan Holloway from “Mad Men” |
14% |
|
Donna Meagle from “Parks and Recreation" |

“There’s no denying the charm of Pam and other administrative professionals on TV,” said Brandi Britton, a district president for OfficeTeam. “Much like these fictional characters, real-life receptionists, office managers and assistants gracefully navigate a variety of challenging situations to keep the office running smoothly.”
Britton added, “Support staff don’t always get recognized for their many accomplishments and contributions to their companies. These employees deserve a round of applause during Administrative Professionals Week and throughout the year.”
Do you agree with the responses? Who would you most like to work with? Personally, I’d love to work in an office with Elaine Vassal (played by Jane Krakowski) on “Ally McBeal.”
