Law Office Administrator was founded as a newsletter for law office managers by Susan Crawford in 1991. The first issue came out in November of that year, joining another publication, Medical Office Manager, which she started in 1987. In 1992, Crawford founded Ardmore Publishing Company, which continued to grow the publication and provide law office administrators throughout the United States with relevant and timely information to help them do their jobs better.
In 2013, Plain Language Media acquired Ardmore Publishing Company.
Plain Language Media continues to publish Law Office Administrator (now Law Office Manager) as a monthly newsletter, while expanding offerings for law office administrators.
In 2014, Plain Language Media launched a companion website to the law office newsletter. Featuring regularly updated content, a library of past articles, customizable policies and tools, and more, the Law Office Manager website provides members with immediate access to essential compliance, HR, management, and career information.
