Declutter your phone to declutter your mind

March 2, 2023

As a busy law office manager, you probably use your smartphone for both personal and professional purposes. However, over time, your device may become cluttered with too many apps, files, and notifications. This can make it difficult to find what you need quickly, and may even affect your productivity. Fortunately, decluttering your smartphone is a simple task that can be done in just a few steps.

Step 1: Delete Unused Apps

The first step to decluttering your smartphone is to delete any apps that you no longer use or need. This includes apps that you downloaded but never used, as well as apps that you used in the past but no longer need. To delete an app on an iPhone, simply hold down the app icon until it starts to shake, then tap the “X” in the corner. On Android devices, go to the app drawer, find the app you want to delete, and drag it to the trash can icon.

Step 2: Organize Your Apps

Once you have deleted any unnecessary apps, you can organize the remaining ones into folders. This will make it easier to find the apps you need quickly. To create a folder on an iPhone, hold down an app icon until it starts to shake, then drag it onto another app. This will create a folder that you can name. On Android devices, tap and hold an app icon, then drag it onto another app to create a folder.

Step 3: Clear Out Unnecessary Files

Over time, your smartphone may accumulate unnecessary files such as photos, videos, and documents. To free up space and declutter your device, you should regularly delete any files that you no longer need. You can also transfer important files to a cloud storage service, such as Google Drive or Dropbox, to save space on your device.

Step 4: Turn Off Unnecessary Notifications

Notifications can be helpful, but they can also be distracting and clutter your smartphone’s screen. To declutter your device, turn off notifications for apps that you don’t need notifications from. To do this on an iPhone, go to Settings, then Notifications, and select the app you want to adjust. On Android devices, go to Settings, then Apps & notifications, and select the app you want to adjust.

By following these simple steps, you can easily declutter your smartphone and make it more organized and efficient. By reducing the clutter on your device, you can save time, increase productivity, and possibly declutter your mind.
